Product leadership that stays close to the work
I'm Hanna-Mari, an Embedded Product Lead with more than a decade of experience turning complex product ambitions into working software.
My career started at Monese, when the company consisted of two founders, an idea and no product. I joined as the first non-founder hire, initially working in marketing, but quickly found myself drawn toward building the product itself.
I explored development, QA, analysis and delivery before finding my place in product leadership. When the Head of Product unexpectedly left ahead of Monese's first launch, I took over and led the final months of delivery. We launched in the planned window.
As the company grew, so did my responsibilities: product development, engineering leadership, internal systems, regulatory operations, recruitment, localization and strategic initiatives. By the time I left, Monese had hundreds of thousands of customers across Europe and approximately 300 employees.
Since then I've led product development and launches across banking, payments, remittances, cryptocurrency and other technically demanding environments.
How I work
My strength is seeing the whole picture without losing touch with the details.
I can move between business strategy, user experience, technical requirements, stakeholder conversations and delivery without losing the thread of what we're trying to achieve.
I don't need to write every task or manage every ceremony. But I do need to understand what's happening across the team, because that's what allows me to spot dependencies, challenge assumptions and make consequential product decisions quickly.
I enjoy working with strong engineers, thoughtful designers and ambitious business leaders who respect one another's expertise. I bring direction, clarity and accountability, while leaving specialists the room to do their best work.
I care about what we're building, why it matters, and whether we're making the right decisions to get there.
Complexity doesn't scare me. Boring products might.
Operational, unglamorous work is part of getting a product out the door. Someone has to care about the last ten percent as much as the first idea.
Working together
I work as an Embedded Product Lead, within product development teams.
My strongest fit is zero-to-one development, complex product builds and high-stakes launches where the business has a meaningful ambition and needs experienced leadership to turn it into reality.
I'm based in Europe, work primarily remotely and collaborate across European time zones, with occasional travel for workshops and kickoffs.
